Last Saturday, I was honored to be a groomsman for one of my best friends. It was moving to witness her walk down the aisle to the person she wants to spend the rest of her life with. I’m truly honored to be a part of her special day.

It’s crazy to think that a couple of years ago, we were just a bunch of young-ins hanging out on my front porch, smoking, and yapping our brains out. She’d come to visit me after work, which would be around 5PM – and end the night around 12AM. Lather, rinse, repeat (x) 5 days a week (+) most of the day Saturday and Sunday. Yes, we were inseparable…. until we had to “grow up”.

Growing up was the time we had to test our ideals and goals separately (I’m happy to say that we’re both closer to achieving our dreams). But the beauty here is – friendships like this is resilient to time. We never fail to pick up where we left off. So best believe it, true friendships come along so rarely.

A year ago, I thought that as I step closer to the prize (my goals), the lonelier it becomes. I’m glad that I’m proving myself wrong.

Hmmmm… Maybe soon, I’ll be walking down the aisle…. haha. Nah, not yet. ;)

For now – Always the Groomsman,
Paul
